What is PAN Card?
PAN Card is a Permanent Account Number issued by the Income Tax Department of India. It works as a valid identification card and is used in almost every type of financial transaction.
PAN is mandatory for opening a bank account, starting a business, and for high value transactions. If you deposit / withdraw more than ₹50,000 in a single day in any bank – PAN Card is compulsory.
PAN Card issued by the Government of India is accepted in all government & financial places across the country.
There are mainly two types of PAN Cards – Individual & Business (Others also exist depending on category).
You can apply PAN Card both Online and Offline.
In Offline mode – you need to fill the form, attach required documents and send it to the official PAN processing office.
In Online mode – your Aadhaar must be linked with your mobile number for OTP verification.

How to Apply PAN Card Online?
- Visit NSDL or UTI official website
- Select New PAN / Correction / Update option
- Fill the online form with correct details
- Verify using Aadhaar based OTP
- Upload required documents
- Pay the application fee
- Submit the form & wait for verification
After successful approval — you can download ePAN online.
