The Assam State School Education Board – Division I (SEBA) is the statutory authority responsible for regulating and supervising secondary school education (Class IX–X) in the state of Assam. Earlier known as the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA), it is now integrated under ASSEB to streamline school education governance in the state.
ASSEB Division I conducts the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination, prescribes syllabus, prepares academic guidelines, and ensures uniform standards across all affiliated government and private schools in Assam.

Admission Process
Admissions for secondary classes are carried out at the school level. Students studying in recognized schools are automatically registered for board examinations as per ASSEB guidelines.
Eligibility Criteria
Students must have passed the previous class from a recognized school. Eligibility for HSLC requires successful completion of Class IX.
