Safety warnings for customers and the general public

It could be a phishing mail.
User IDs and Passwords for Net Banking Web Sites, ATM Cards, Credit Cards, Debit Card Numbers and their respective PINs and Online Financial Information such as Bank Account Numbers etc. are highly confidential. Don’t part with them.

beware of phishing
Recently there has been an increase in phishing incidents targeting customers of leading banks around the world including our bank. So in order to alert customers to such attacks which are actually triggered through a fake e-mail sent by the bank, we explain the modus operandi of the attacks, how to make them unforeseen. Customers are prompted to obtain personal credentials and also how to avoid falling prey to such attacks.
Phishing
Phishing is a form of cyber attack in which scammers/attackers expose Internet users with sensitive information about their bank accounts and personal details. A common online phishing scam begins with a fake e-mail message that looks like an official notice from a trusted source, such as a bank, credit card company, or reputable online merchant. Such fake mails will ask the recipients to verify or update their personal credentials, failing which their accounts will be deactivated and they will be directed to a website which looks like the website of the real organization. If unsuspecting customers follow links in the mail and submit their personal credentials, those details will actually go to fraudsters, who later use the credentials to place orders, services, transfer money from accounts, etc. Which leads to identity theft.
Avoid becoming a victim of phishing
Please beware of fraudulent mails which are said to be sent by Indian Bank. Such mails ask customers to validate or update their personal credentials by clicking on links in the mail and in case of non-response threaten to ban or block their accounts or take similar action.
We would like to emphasize once again that Indian Bank will not ask for personal credentials of the customer like Credit Card/ATM Card Number, PIN, Internet Banking Password through email.
